Mount Raung’s plumes, which make flying conditions unsuitable, are expected to affect Bali skies until early next week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre.
“We’ve still got the current wind direction bringing the ash down to the south-east of the volcano, which unfortunately is in the Bali region,” Michael Haywood from the BOM said.
“Because we’ve got a mid level trough near, that’s not really forecast to move anywhere until next week.”
Garuda is yet to make an announcement about its services.
